SMART President and Co-CEO Awarded Honorary Doctorate
Saint Mary's University presents degree to Nancy Knowlton at spring convocation
Calgary, AB --- June 2, 2003 ---Nancy Knowlton, president and co-CEO of SMART Technologies Inc. was awarded an honorary Doctor of Commerce degree from Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia at a convocation ceremony on Friday, May 23. This degree, one of six honorary degrees conferred at the convocation, was awarded in recognition of Ms. Knowlton’s many business accomplishments.
“I wish to express my gratitude to Saint Mary’s University for this acknowledgment,” says Nancy Knowlton, who was also the speaker for the graduation ceremony. “It’s a great honor, and I was happy to share some of my experience and advice with this year’s graduates.”
The co-founder of SMART Technologies Inc., Nancy Knowlton is one of only a handful of women leading multimillion-dollar technology companies. She holds a diploma of collegial studies (1972) and a business administration degree with honors (1975) from Bishop's University in Lennoxville, Quebec, and an MBA in marketing and finance from Saint Mary's University (1978).
